Before we do that though, take a minute, check this out, and make sure it's gonna work for ya. So with these ProMaster Cities, seems like the vast majority of people out there use 'em as a work vehicle, right And a lot of times that'll include you having to pull some trailers around, and if that's what you plan on doing, you're gonna need a way to power up the lights on that trailer. That way you're not only safe, but it's a legal requirement as well. This kit is gonna have the four-way flat-type connector, which is a really common type of trailer wiring. more

Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install this Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness on our 2015 Ram 1500. So this is going to be an in-bed solution for our 7-way wiring plug on our Ram 1500. So if we're towing a gooseneck or a 5th wheel trailer, we can have all of the proper signals and functions of that wiring in the bed. This is gonna come with 10 feet of wire, so plenty to get you from the bumper where your 7-way is up inside the bed of your truck. Now, it will require drilling a small hole in the bed of your truck, but that part's really not too bad, because the rest of it is just a plug and play connection, so it's really straightforward. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500. We're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Draw-Tite 5th wheel and Gooseneck In-bed Wiring Kit. Now, the biggest reason why people like to put a wiring kit in the bed of their truck is so that when you're hooking up to your 5th or your gooseneck you've got all the components in the bed of the truck that involve hooking up to your trailer. So you hook up to your 5th wheel or your gooseneck trailer and while you're in here making all your connections, you take your wire and you plug it right into the side of your truck. The only other option of plugging in a gooseneck or 5th wheel is to drape the 7-pole wire over your tailgate and plug it into the 7-pole down by your bumper. more

Bargman Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2022 Ram 2500- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Bargman fifth wheel and gooseneck in bed seven pole. Now, the biggest reason why you would want to install a seven pole in the bed of your truck is because when you're hauling a fifth wheel or a gooseneck, both of those are typically going to have your standard seven pole plug on 'em, and it's much more convenient to plug it in here and not have anything draping over the tailgate of your truck. Typically, what people do if they don't have in bed wiring is they'll run their seven pole from the gooseneck or fifth wheel over the the tailgate of their truck and plug it into their seven pole. Well, there's a couple of problems with that. If you're doing that on a regular basis, chances are at some point you're going to forget that it's plugged in and pull away with it still connected because the wiring will be looped down here, you could disconnect from your camper, or your gooseneck trailer and pull away and your wiring will still be underneath plugged in. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer, today on our 2018 Ram ProMaster City, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness. A lot of our ProMaster customers use their vehicles for work, so it's especially important to keep your trailer illuminated not only to remain safe and legal, but to keep your equipment that's on your trailer, safe as well. So since a lot of people do use these for work, chances are pretty good you're going to be hooking up to your trailer quite often and one of the big questions that we get asked all the time is if you're able to actually mount your wiring connector outside here to make it a little bit easier, and the answer is yes. Today we have ours mounted outside and it's not very difficult. You just simply have to drop your connector through the taillight pocket and route it over here where you want to mount it up.Now, in our case, I just used a couple of brackets and secured it to our hitch. A trailer connector plug is pretty straight forward, but what's really nice about these end bed ones is the fact that we're not going to have to drape our wiring over our tailgate to plug it into the factory connector, down by our bumper. This means we don't have to worry about our wiring getting chased or scratching up our tailgate or anything like that. Whenever we're not towing our 5th-wheel or gooseneck, we still are going to be able to maintain and use that factory bumper plug. more

Now, our Draw-Tite is going to give us a seven-way connector in the bed of our truck, so whenever we hook up our gooseneck, it's going to prevent us from having to drape the cord over the tailgate and go to the bumper. Because a lot of times, we don't even have that much room or that long of wiring, to where it can come back over and go all the way over to the passenger side, where our factory wiring is. But this way, it's just really convenient, really easy because whenever we hook up, we can simply just plug in our wiring, close the tailgate, and we're ready to go. more

Bargman Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 Ram 2500- Video
Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Bargman fifth wheel and gooseneck wiring harness on our 2019 Ram 2500.Now having a wiring harness inside the bed of your truck, it's going to be a lot nicer than having to worry about draping it over the tailgate and hooking into the bumper.Whenever we have a Gooseneck or a Fifth Wheel, or if you potentially have an in bed camper, it's going to be a lot easier to hook up as well, because let's face it.Once we get our Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck hooked up, we don't want to have to worry about draping the cord over the tailgate, removing the tailgate, any of that.Sometimes we're not going to be able to reach all the way back. So this way it's going to prevent us from having to do that and still be a lot easier to hook up.Our wiring is going to be just like the one at the back of our bumper, giving us all seven functions.When we have everything hooked up, like our tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights, our 12 volt power source and our electric brake signal.It's also going to have this spring loaded door. So I'm going to make sure, dirt debris or anything else that we have in our bed won't get inside.But what I really like about it is you can see at the bottom here, there's a very small notch and that's in case there is a lot of water that gets back here. Even with the door closed, it's going to be able to drain out and not cause a lot of corrosion inside.Now, our wiring is going to be molded directly on to the connector here. So we're not going to have to worry about too many connection points, getting any kind of dirt debris or corrosion inside of it.This is going to have a 90 degree on the back. So it's going to work really well in those really tight spots. more

Today on your 2016 RAM 1500 ProMaster, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Modulite vehicle wiring harness with the brake controller adapter. No longer are the days where you have to piece together a Modulite four pole harness plus a wiring kit such as the one we sell here at etrailer ETBC7 to get a seven pole connector up and running and working with a brake controller. Now Tekonsha has come out with a Modulite harness that has a brake controller adapter integrated in it, so the installation has everything you need right there on that Modulite for a seven pole, which also comes with it and a brake controller, which doesn't come included, but you have plenty of options here at etrailer.com to suit the needs that best fit your load you're hauling.I've gone ahead and turned on the hazards so you can see here that it still works just like your regular Modulite harnesses. You're going to get all of your necessary lighting signals, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps, keeping you DOT compliant in all states. But it also includes the seven way connector so you can plug in those larger trailers that use a seven way. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 2500, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow package. What's really great about this kit, is it plugs directly into your truck's factory tow package. Now this is going to give us the capability to plug into a 4-pole connector or if we already have one, give us an additional one. Like this customer's situation, he already has an OEM 4-way, however he's wanting to add a light bar so we need another 4-pole connector.Now this is going to give us all our necessary lighting functions, including running lights, turn signals, and of course your brake lights. Now it's going to give us plenty of length to connect anything that we might have, and it's also going to have this loom on it, to help keep that factory look. Also the dust cap, this will help keep out any contaminants, and help from our terminals getting damaged. more

Today in our 2014 Ram 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel and Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness, with the seven-fold plug.So here's what our wiring's gonna look like once we have it installed. It's gonna allow us to have a seven way connector in the bed of our pickup truck. That way, whenever we have a 5th wheel or a gooseneck, we're not gonna have to lower and lift the tailgate and worry about running the cable underneath.The oversized plug and door here is gonna make it extremely easy to plug in, and the fact that the door's gonna open a full 180 degrees means we're not gonna have to worry about it only opening so much, and trying to fight it. Like most seven ways, we are gonna have this tap that's gonna catch on to the plug so it doesn't accidentally come unplugged. And there is gonna be this weather seal inside to make sure we keep all the dirt, debris and moisture out of our connector. The door it self is gonna be spring loaded, so it'll make sure to keep all that debris out, 'cause it'll automatically close.Our wiring is gonna come with a total of 10 feet of wire. more

Today on our 2019 RAM ProMaster 2500, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector.So here's what our wiring's gonna look like once we have it installed. I do wanna mention that we decided to run our wire to the outside, that way it'll be close to our hitch so we can hook up easier, because it's designed to stay on the inside, and you run it out the cargo door. Our wiring's gonna provide us with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, so we have all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake lights.And if you do decide to run your wires to the outside, we can use the dust cover to keep the excess wire from dangling on the road or you can mount a 4-Pole Bracket for a more permanent solution. Our wiring is gonna be fuse protected and it is gonna use a powered tail light converter. And what that's gonna do is that it's gonna take the signal from our tail lights and transfer it into a working signal for our trailer. But it's also gonna protect our ProMaster from any problems that may arise in the trailer end and keep it from back-feeding back into the electrical system.So now that we've seen the end result, let's show you how to get it installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Ram 1500 we're going to be installing the EZ Connector Magnetic T-Connector with 7-Way Trailer Connector, part number 319-R7-06. If you'd like to pick it up as a kit with the trailer end, you can use part number 319-R7-02. To help us out with the install, we're going to be using the Tow Ready No-Drill Mount Short Bracket, part number 18140.Upgrade the factory 7-way on your Ram to the magnetic EZ Connector. This is going to allow you to maintain the use of your original 4-pole connection, and original 7-way connection while adding the ability to use the EZ Connector. Because it allows you to maintain your factory connections, you can tow trailers with either the EZ Connector or standard connections. It's a face to face connection, so there are no pins or blades to be broken.It's very simple to install. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Ram 3500 we'll be having a look at and installing the Hopkins Endurance fifth wheel gooseneck 90-degree wiring harness with seven-pole plug. Part number 41157. Here's what our Hopkins seven-way harness looks like installed. We have a nice door here which covers our connector up when it's not in use. There's a foam gasket on the inside that will help keep the elements and any dirt and debris from entering, potentially causing corrosion or a short circuit in our socket. Unlike a lot of other seven-ways on the market, this door opens more than 180 degrees, making it really easy for us to plug our wiring harness into.Now underneath is a little bit wider here. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ram 3500, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Bargman nine foot long fifth wheel and gooseneck 90 degree wiring harness, designed for the factory seven pole plug. Part number is 50-97-410.This additional fifth wheel wiring harness is going to be the perfect solution for adding a T connector between the already existing seven pole plug on the back of your truck. You can see we've got a good length of wire where we can run that up to an area, we're going to use this area here, accessible in our bed to make connections with fifth wheels and goosenecks much simpler.As you can see, our seven pole plug mounts nicely inside the bed of the truck. This gives us an excellent connection point for the fifth wheels and goosenecks so we don't have to drag them back to the back of the truck and get them plugged in. Inside of the cap we've got a rubber gasket all the way around that seals around this edge. It's going to prevent moisture and dust from getting inside. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Ram 2500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt 5th Wheel or Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness, part number C56000. Here's what our 5th wheel and gooseneck wiring looks like when it's fully installed. It's going to give us a 7-way socket at the back of our truck, so that way when we're towing with a 5th wheel or a gooseneck, we'll have our connector right here.It does come with a spring-loaded weatherproof door to keep out some of the moisture and help corrosion from building up on the inside of our socket. Now, not only is this going to give you all the required lights on your trailer such as your stoplights, clearance lights, and your turn signals, now it's also going to give you all the functions of a 7-way, including your brake controller. That is, if the factory 7-way on your vehicle is connected that way as well.Now the way we're going to install this is there's going to be a T connector that goes between our factory 7-way and the back of our bumper, and it's going to run up to here. Our harness does come with a 10 foot lead, so there's plenty of wire to run it and most applications where you put it in the back of the bed here.One of the nice features of our harness here is that it does come preinstalled with wire alum across the entire length of our wire, helping protect it from the elements or anything else. more

Here's what our plug looks like fully installed. It's going to give us a 7-way in the back of our bed. That way if we're towing with a gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer we'll have our connector right here. It has a nice spring loaded hinge as well as a gasket inside to help keep out moisture and cut down on corrosion. Even though we have this 7-way mounted in the bed of our truck, this isn't going to interfere with the operation of our factory 7-way. We're still going to be able to come to the back of our truck at the bumper and still be able to use that connector even though we have one here as well. Our cover is made of a durable ABS plastic so it is going to be weather resistant. more

Our door opens more than 180 degrees, making it really easy to plug in to your trailer. We have this nice foam gasket seal right here to keep the elements out of the connector, making sure we don't have any corrosion buildup on our terminals inside. We also have this nice latch here to help hold your seven-way plug into the connector when you're hooked up to your trailer. This will give us all the functions we need in order to tow our gooseneck or fifth wheel trail without having a cable draped over the tailgate, plugged into the factory connector on the bumper. more

Today on our 2016 Ram ProMaster 2500 we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt T Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number is C56209. Now this is what your kit's going to look like when you pull it out of your packaging. This is going to be the main part of the system here, that's our four pole flat trailer connector. This is going to allow us to plug in our running lights, left turn and brake and right turn and brake in our trailer, cargo carrier, whatever it is we might be hauling. Basically those signals are going to come into our converter box. This is going to convert it into a usable signal for our trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Ram ProMaster City- Video
Today, in our 2017 Ram ProMaster City we'll be installing the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector; part number 118719. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, it's nice and tucked up and out of the way, nothing dangling down underneath the vehicle; it doesn't rest on the floor of our vehicle in here at all either. If we want to gain access to it, we just need to pull back this cover here, pull it on out, set it to the side of our latch here for our door, lie it down by our hitch, close our door on up, and then close our second door. As you can see, it's readily assessable, easy for us to use. It has a nice 4-pole flat connector underneath our dustcover for here to give us all the lighting functions we need in order to legally tow our trailer. The included dustcover will help protect it from the elements when it's stored outside the vehicle or when we store it inside we don't have to worry about any dirt, debris or items inside of our vehicle damaging the connector. more

As you can see it's nice clean look. It'll allow us to easily hook up to our goose neck or fifth wheel trailer without having any wires dangling below our truck, possibly getting it damaged when the trailer turns. Here's what a wiring kit consists of. We have our seven way. That's just like the seven way that's on the bumper of our vehicle except this will allow us to put it in the bed of our truck so we can hook our goose neck or fifth wheel wiring easily. more

Here's what our wiring harness is going to look like once it's installed in the truck. As you can see, it's going to provide us seven way power here in the bed of the truck so it's easier to use with your gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer. That way you don't have to take your wiring harness and drape it down over the tailgate of the truck but rather you can plug it in right here in the bed. The seven way comes with a nice spring-loaded lid that's going to help keep moisture out. It features seven feet of wire, so you'll have pretty good options as to where you want to mount your new seven way connector in the bed. Today on our 2016 Ram 2500, we will be installing the Tow Ready fifth wheel or gooseneck wiring harness, provide us with a 7-pole connection, part number 20110. Here's what our kit consists of. First off, we have our 7-pole connector here, which we'll install on the bed of our truck, and this will allow us to hook up our gooseneck or our fifth wheel wiring so we don't have to have wires draping down over our tailgate, hooking up underneath our vehicle. It installs with 4 self tapping screws, which are provided. We have a couple zip ties to secure our wiring. Here's the connector end which will go to our new 7-pole. Then right here, we have a T connection, where we'll connect to our factory 7-pole and then go to the factory wiring. more

Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Ram 2500- Video
Today we'll be reviewing and installing the Pollak Fifth Wheel Gooseneck T-connector with 7-pole, part number PK11893-11932 on a 2015 Ram 2500. This is how our new seven-way connector looks when it's installed for 5th wheel and gooseneck hitches. Here, if we open the lid of our connector, you can the seven pins inside. On the front of this spring-loaded lid, it's got a key to let you know which pin correlates to which function, and we've got these four silver 5/16 head self-tapping screws. Here we've got the T-connector. You unplug the factory connector, and plug it into one end of the T, and the other end plugs into the factory 7-way, which then splits your power and sends it all the way up to your new 7-way connector in the bed. more
